Financial Access Fair on October 27 in Stamford, CT

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The non-profit organization Qualitas of Life Foundation will hold a Financial Access Fair (FAF) for the Hispanic community of Stamford, CT, at the community organization Building One Community on Saturday, October 27 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The objective of this Fair is to create a bridge between financial service providers and the Hispanic community of Connecticut in a familiar, trusted environment, with institutions and financial organizations (banks, credit unions, consulates, and many more) that have services specifically tailored to the needs of the immigrant community, as well as other institutions whose mission is to advocate for the Hispanic community.

Among the financial institutions that will attend the Fair are Members Credit Union, Bank of America, BBVA Bancomer, US Alliance Financial, Wells Fargo, Finhabits and AARP. These institutions will not only give our participants key information about their services, but they will also be able to open bank accounts at the event.

In addition, Latin American consulates, such as the Consulate General of Mexico in New York, the Consulate General of Guatemala in New York and the Consulate General of Colombia will be present, as well as other non-profit organizations such as SCORE. These institutions will bring valuable information mostly related with their protection programs for the immigrant community, education and other services that allow for a better family or business financial planning.

Qualitas of Life Foundation’s mission is to provide basic financial education to Hispanic individuals and their families, in order to foster their financial security and improve their standard of living. Therefore, it will also provide two financial education workshops during the fair: “Get ready: migratory processes and my money” (in which participants will learn how to protect their money and assets in the current immigration context), and “My finances and my business” (which will provide the basics to know before starting a business).

Also, Alida Boer, Founder and Director of Marias bags and former Miss Guatemala will share her testimony seeking to inspire all the women participating in Building One Community and the Financial Access Fair.

The Financial Access Fair is free and open to all Hispanic families. We invite you to attend with your families so they can inform themselves and have access to the financial services available and tailored to the needs of our population. There will be food for the whole family, activities for children, and fun.
