Thank you!

Our Financial Access Fair in Stamford, CT was a success despite weather conditions! This would not have been possible without the support of our participants, allied organizations, volunteers and all the people who supported us to bring this fair to the Hispanic community of Connecticut.

We especially want to thank our allies and co-organizers at Building One Community for their hard work. We also appreciate the assistance of Members Credit Union, Bank of America, US Alliance Financial, Finhabits, AARP, SCORE, the General Consulate of Mexico in New York, and Alida Boer for their committed participation.

More than 75 people received financial services and advice during the event that took place in Stamford, CT on October 27 for the Hispanic community in that area. In addition, two workshops were given ‘My finances and my business’ and ‘Get Ready: migratory processes and my money’. Additionally, through the fair attendees were able to open savings accounts, checking accounts, were able to obtain pre-approval of credit and business loans, some were registered to know more how they can start saving for their retirement, and others obtained information for tax return preparation free of charge.

Alejandro, one of the assistants to the fair with one of the participating organizations, told us that the financial access fairs are a great way to help the community “every day our community is going through financial problems and we need the help of specialized people, this kind of fairs motivates people to come and look for advice because they do not know, and to ignore is the worst mistake that can happen to our community. This type of events should be done with more often”. On the other hand, Julissa from the Dominican Republic told us that at the Financial Access Fair she had the opportunity to have orientation from different institutions that could provide her with information on different financial aspects that she needed “I learned how to manage my finances with my credits cards, how to have my savings in a cooperative, all that is magnificent“.

The goal of the Financial Access Fairs of Qualitas of Life Foundation is to create a bridge between financial service providers and the community in an environment of trust, maximizing the impact of our educational program. With your support, we can continue to offer reliable, free and accessible services in order to raise the standard of living of the Hispanic community.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][us_gallery ids=”4623,4625,4627,4629,4631,4633,4635,4637,4639,4641,4643,4647″ columns=”6″ indents=”1″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
