She came to New York in January and joined the Qualitas team. She has been documenting the workshops and is responsible for the organization of a special outdoor event for the workshops’ participants.
“When I first heard of Qualitas and what they were doing in New York I thought it was a great idea and a win-win situation for everyone involved. I never realized how important this work is, and how much financial education can actually help people improve their lives, until I attended the workshops and the participants shared their experiences with me.
I have been a volunteer for Qualitas for a month, and I believe deeply in this project. Every workshop I go to just makes me realize more and more how much immigrants are willing to work and fight for a better life. They are eager to ask questions and always ready to learn. Oddly enough, I am the one who has learned the most out of this experience. I’m really happy to be part of the Qualitas team and hope to stay on for good.”
